Santa Barbara’s Canary Hotel Restaurant Gets a Delicious Revamp
Finch & Fork inside the Canary Hotel has a brand new chef, which of course meant I had to get myself in for dinner to see what’s happening with the menu. It’s a concise lineup, but every dish feels thoughtful… Layered with flavor, quality, and a lot of care. I love that they’re leaning into a more seasonal approach, swapping dishes in and out depending on what’s fresh and available locally.
The standout for me was their fried chicken, done confit style. It literally falls off the bone with this juicy, almost roast chicken–like flavor that’s just unreal. The shrimp and polenta were another win, cooked perfectly, rich, yet totally balanced. And don’t even get me started on the sides… the za’atar carrots and the mac and cheese were both next-level.
All in all, very impressed. I’ll be back soon, fork in hand, ready to keep exploring the menu.
